My recent work is inspired by East Indian miniatures and Sienese religious art of the 14th century, in which parallel or overlapping mythological narratives take place throughout the picture plane. Using flat planes of color and expressive characters, I've attempted to create a personal vocabulary to convey a sense of childish bewilderment and wonder about the forces that shape our experiences.
