BECOME A VOLUNTEER

For information on becoming a volunteer firefighter with the Fort Washington Fire Company, feel free to come to either of the fire stations on Monday nights at about 6:45 p.m., or the Summit Ave. station on the second Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. You may also call us at (215) 646-2555 for information. Men and women are welcome.

The Fort Washington Fire Co. is a fire company that sponsors a junior program. The junior program is set up to allow individuals between the ages of 16 and 18 to learn the trade. Juniors are permitted to ride on the fire trucks to calls and to take part in the excitement of the job. However, to our compliance with child labor laws, juniors are not permitted to enter burning buildings. This program allows for interested persons to learn the job and begin taking schools.

Being a firefighter requires going to schools. Our company requires members to pass three classes. Continuing education is strongly encouraged.
